Sending Love

Hi there! Living in Texas we have tried so many times to grow and keep hibiscus in our yard. I really love hibiscus but do NOT have a green thumb at all. So unfortunately, after many dead plants, we have given up on our hibiscus dreams!!

My hibiscus dreams have to live through my cards. I love this Big and Bold Hibiscus Hummingbird stamp set by Colorado Craft Company. This is such a big, beautiful image that is so fun to colour!! I made a 5x7 card so I could fit the whole image in.

I started out by stamping my image onto white cardstock using my favourite black ink, Versafine Onyx Black. Then I coloured the image using Prismacolor Premier pencils.

Colours I used:

Flowers: Raspberry, Magenta, Hot Pink, Parma Violet, Lilac, White

Leaves & Stem: Olive Green, Dark Green, Spring Green Stamen: Deco Yellow

I then used my coloured pencils to create my blue, blended background. I used the flower stem as a sort of border darker blue blended to the left and lighter to the right.

Colours used: White, Powder Blue, Light Cerulean, Cobalt Hue, Ultramarine

TIP: I smooth everything out with a Prismacolor Blender pencil.

Once my 5x7 panel was coloured, I stamped the sentiment on using the Versafine Onxyx black ink. Then I adhered my panel onto a 5x7 card base.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out. It is headed to a friend that could use a pretty, pick me up! Thanks for visiting! Happy crafting!!

Below are my affiliate links to products I used for this card. ***Disclosure: I use affiliate links where I can. This does not add any extra cost to you, but I do receive a small amount which helps keep me in craft supplies. Thank you!***
