Welcome! Today I have a fun Halloween card featuring products from a few fabulous companies. When I saw the awesome new Classic Book dies from Waffle Flower, I knew I wanted to make a card like this.
Halloween is a big deal in my house, and I love making Halloween cards! I'll be posting many more of them in the coming months.
To start this card. I used the Classic Books Layering Stencil first along with some of the gorgeous stencil butters from The Crafters Workshop (TCW). I secured the stencil over regular black cardstock and applied Orchid, Copper Penny and also Platinum Stardust Butter. I have to say, these butters are so smooth and yummy! I love creating with them so much!
Once the butters had dried, I used the Classic Books die set to cut the books out. I also die cut 3 extra book shapes for each of the books I used from black cardstock and adhered them behind the stenciled books. This gives extra height to the books, and I feel it gives a more realistic look to them.
Also, while the butters were drying, I stamped the potion bottle and skull from the Magic Potions Stamp set by Sweet Sentiment onto white cardstock. I coloured them up using Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils and die cut them out using the coordinating die set that is available.
I adhered all the books, the potion, and the skull onto a patterned paper background that I die cut using a stitched rectangle 4.25x5.5" die from my stash. I also die cut the label and square for the purple book and silver heat embossed the words "witches brew" onto the rectangle.
For my sentiment, I found a matching purple cardstock from my stash and stamped the sentiment from the Magic Potion Stamp Set in black and die cut it out. I also die cut 3 more blank sentiment shapes from the purple cardstock, adhered those behind the stamped one and then adhered it onto the background.
I am thrilled with how this card turned out! There are so many things you can do with those fabulous book dies! I look forward to using them in a bunch more cards. I hope my card has inspired you to create something you love. Happy crafting!
