Retro Hello Friend, i-Crafter New Release

Hello there! I'm taking you way back with this retro card I created for this month's i-Crafter release. My bright, cheery card features the new Shadow Hello Friend and the Classic Squares Die sets. This idea come to me the minute I saw the Shadow Hello Friend die set. It brought back memories of my childhood and I knew what colours I needed to use. I started out by die cutting the squares. I kept the dies in their original positions in relation to each other when I removed them from the packaging. I did this by running a strip of washi tape along each side of the squares along the non-cutting edge.

Then, I used these connected squares to die cut square frames from blue, green, yellow, orange and red. You will end up with more frames than you will need for this card but you can save the extras or you can make multiples of this card design. I then assembled the individual coloured frames together so that the squares go from blue to red (reverse rainbow). To keep the squares in position, I placed some washi tape on the backside.

Next, I lined up one of the square's corners on a white A2 (4.25x5.5) sized cardstock panel toward the bottom with the corner pointing inwards on the left side. I used the grid lines on my glass mat and a ruler for getting the placement and the alignment of the corners onto the panel. I secured it temporarily using washi tape then cut off the rest of the square. I then followed the same procedure on the right side of the panel using another corner of the same square. I used one more of the square's corners to create another point on the bottom center of the cardstock panel. Then, double checked the alignment with a ruler before adhering all three corners/points down permanently.

Once The bottom of the panel was complete, I die cut the Shadow words Hello and Friend from both yellow and black cardstock. I also cut the included star from the same colours.

I adhered them to the front of the panel, using the black die cuts as the shadows and the yellow for inside the black. Lastly, I adhered the panel onto an A2 (4.25x5.5) white card base.

This card was just so much fun to create and really brought me back to being a kid again with all the bold colour and the fun retro feel of the words! I hope you enjoy this card too! Thanks so much for visiting!
