Home Sweet Home

Hello! I just could not resist getting my hands on the adorable new stamp set, Gnome Home from Colorado Craft Company. I am not a fan of real mushrooms, but I LOVE cute mushroom homes! They remind me of a mushroom house toy I had for my Smurfs when I was a kid.

So, with that in mind, I stamped my mushroom house in VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto white cardstock. Then I used Prismacolor Premier pencils to colour it up in shades of teal and tan for the mushroom, brown and for the door and window boxes then green and pink for the flowers. I then die cut it out using the available coordinating die.

I also die cut 2 more blank mushroom shapes from white cardstock and adhered them behind the coloured mushroom so that it would add dimension.

I wanted to have my mushroom home in a frame, so I used a scalloped rectangle frame die from My Favorite Things. I found a matching tan coloured cardstock and die cut 4 frames then adhered them in all in a stack. Then adhered the frame onto a patterned paper panel I cut to 4x5.25.

With the frame on the patterned panel, I adhered the mushroom on as well. Then I stamped the home sweet home sentiment onto tan cardstock, die cut it and adhered it onto the panel. The sentiment I used came from the Mouse House stamp set also from Colorado Craft Company.

The last step was to back my panel with black cardstock measuring slightly smaller than my A2 sized (4.25x5.5") card base and adhere it onto the card base.
