Hello! Today is new release day at The Rabbit Hole Designs and this release is special to me as I had a hand in bringing both the Sail and Soar stamp set and the Adventure Scripty word Stamp set to the release. Have you ever looked at an image and a whole card idea sprang immediately to mind? Thats what happened to me when I saw this adorable paper boat with the rabbit aboard! I knew exactly what card I wanted to create first. Today, for the new release, I get to share it with you! I started out by stamping the boat image onto white cardstock. I then colored up the bunny and his telescope using Prismacolor Premier pencils.
I then stamped it a few times onto graph paper with the boat in different positions on the paper. I did this so that when I cut the pieces for the boat out, the lines of the paper were facing different directions. Just like what would happen if you were to fold the boat from a single sheet of paper.
I then fussy cut all the parts of the boat from the graph paper and adhered them onto the image stamped onto the white cardstock.
Once my boat was coloured, paper pieced and cut out, I prepared the background. To create my space background, I trimmed black cardstock to a slimline size, 3.5" x8.5" panel. I then used both green and purple metallic gel stick to create a swoop across the panel. I smoothed the colour by dampening my finger with a touch of water.
I created stars all over the panel using a white gel pen and also a Posca white paint pen.
Then I created a moon by using a 1/2" circle punch to cut a circle from white cardstock. I used a grey colored pencil to make the shadows on the moon. Then I adhered the boat and the moon onto the panel.
Next step was creating the sentiment. I used the new Adventure Scripty Word stamp and Shadow die sets to create a shadow and also the word from black cardstock. I used the metallic gel sticks on the shadow and smoothed the colour using the same technique as before. I added stars to the word shadow before adhering the black word onto the shadow.
For the "is calling" sentiment, I embossed it using Versamark embossing ink and white embossing powder. Before I stamped it though, I prepared the black cardstock using the awesome Cottontail Embossing Powder tool. This tool makes stray powder sticking to the cardstock a thing of the past!!
With the panel complete, I adhered it onto a white slimline card base. I really hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thanks so much for visiting. Don't forget to hop on over to all the stops. Next stop is my talented friend Tangii!
