Hi! It's day 2 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release and inspiration hop. Clarence has found a new friend and boy is he super cute!! My card features the newly released Hello Friend stamp set, illustrated by Dustin Pike, and the previously released Build Your Garden stencil.
I wanted to create a white background so this cute new stamp could pop!
I started out by using the stencil to dry emboss the pattern onto white cardstock. To do this, I first lightly spritzed the back and front of the cardstock with water (this gives a more pronounced emboss). I placed the stencil over the cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine using the recommended sandwich for embossing.
While my embossed background dried, I stamped my Clarence image and my "hello friend" sentiment in black ink onto white cardstock. I then coloured the image up using Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils. I then die cut it out using the coordinating die for the stamp and trimmed the sentiment as well.
I used a 4x5.25" rectangle, scalloped frame die from my stash to die cut a frame from white cardstock. I wanted the frame to have some height and stand above the image and background, so I die cut 4 more white frames and adhered them all together.
Next, I trimmed my flower embossed background to the same dimensions as the frame 4x5.25". Then adhered the frame onto the panel and the whole thing onto a white A2 (4.25x5.5") card base.
I then adhered Clarence and his friend and the sentiment onto the card. The stem on the base almost looks like the stem for the bee's flower! So cute!!
