Winter Tea-Rex

The Rabbit Hole Designs has this super fun Tea-rex stamp set and Intersection stencil mini release this month.

As winter is fast approaching, I decided to have Tea-Rex warming up in a cup of hot chocolate. You can see that as he eased into the cup, the whipped cream spilled over the edge of the cup. He also has some ice nearby in case the hot chocolate was too hot!

To start, I stamped the tea-rex image in black onto white cardstock. I made sure to wipe the ink off the tea bag and string so they wouldn't stamp onto the paper. I also wanted to put a scarf on him so I stamped the mouse from the Merry Mousemas set and cut out the scarf. I then coloured the images up using Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut everything out. Colours used were: Tea-rex: light green, true green, peacock green, white

Scarf: powder blue, non photo blue, china blue, white

Cup: salmon pink, pale vermillion, white

Before adding on the scarf, I used a versamark pen and created the area for the whipped cream. I then added Hero Arts white puffy embossing powder and heat set it. Then I adhered the scarf.

For the snowy background, I watercoloured distress oxide inks in Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire. When that had dried, I created the circle using a circle die from my stash. Using a white gel pen, I added dots to the sky to look like tiny snowflakes. To create the snow under the cup. I again used my versamark pen to lay down where I wanted the "snow" to be. Then I put the puffy embossing powder on and heat set it. T-rex was now ready to go on so I popped him up with double sided foam tape and adhered him on the snow.

The background was the last element of my card. I used Pixie spray on my Intersection stencil and placed it over a 5.5x4.25" sky blue cardstock panel. Using my versamark ink pad this time, I direct to stencil, inked over the whole panel. Next, I carefully removed the stencil and sprinkled the white puffy embossing powder all over the panel. Then heat set the powder.

Finally, I adhered all components onto an A2 card base.

I am really happy with how this wintery tea-rex card turned out. Thanks for visiting. Come back tomorrow to see my next card using this mini release.
