Welcome! I thought I'd add some sass to my creation for day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release and inspiration hop. This card features the new Nutty 2 Layers stencil set and Birthday Hot Foil Plate.
I started out by stenciling my background. I secured the stencil with the large peanut openings over a 4.22x5.47") cream cardstock panel and ink blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink through those openings. I removed the stencil and lined up the 2nd stencil, with peanut shell design, over the peanuts on the cardstock. I used Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink to blend through this stencil. I then left then stencil in place on the cardstock and ran them through my die cutting machine using my embossing plate set up. This dry embossed the texture of the peanut shell creating some added dimension to the peanuts.
I adhered my nutty background onto an A2 (4.25x5.5") sized black cardstock panel then adhered it onto my A2 sized top folding card base.
Next step was to create my sentiments for the card. I used my hot foiling system to foil the word "birthday" in gold foil on black cardstock using the new Rabbit Hole Designs hot foil plate. I die cut the word out using the shadow die from the corresponding die set (sold separately) and adhered it onto the front of my card.
After that, I inked and stamped the word "happy" from the Birthday Scripty stamp set in black ink onto cream cardstock. I trimmed it down using a die from my stash, backed it with black cardstock and adhered it above my foiled "Birthday".
Now for the sassy part. I used the "Decaf? Are You Nuts?" sentiment from the new Clarence Coffee stamp set to create my own "you nut" sentiment. I did this by inking up only the words/letters I wanted. When I had that stamped I trimmed and bordered it in black like I did with my "happy" sentiment. I adhered that below the "birthday" to complete my card.
When this idea popped into my head I knew it would be absolutely perfect for any member of my family and even a good number of my friends!!
