The Scenic Route

My family loves to travel and the travel bug has been hitting me really hard lately. I cannot wait to say "Hello World" and visit new places again. I really hope that it will be possible to get going again soon.

I thought I the Wonderful World stamp set and Hello World die set would work perfectly with the Heart Hands wiper insert to create this slimline card that is perfect for when it is safe to travel again. These awesome sets are all from I-crafter. Links below.

I started out by creating this sunrise front panel by brushing color horizontally across water color card stock. First, I brushed a light layer water over the panel. Then starting from the bottom I brushed distress oxides across using (in order) Squeezed Lemonade, ,Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Wilted Violet. I set that aside to dry.

Next, I trimmed then adhered the travel themed patterned paper to the front and inside of my slimline card base. Then I die cut all the components of the wiper I wanted to create. I used white for the base and right hand, kraft card stock for the globe and the hello world banner, and Navy for the globe background and a second (solid) banner. I colored the right arm using Prismacolor pencils in seashell pink, beige sienna, and light peach.

Once the sunrise panel was dry, I used a rectangle slimline die to trim it down. I stamped "take the scenic route" in black ink in the center. Then framed it with a navy frame I created using a scalloped slimline rectangle dies and adhered it to the front of the card.

I was then ready to adhere the components of the wiper to my card inside. I used a small heart punch to stamp a heart out of excess sunrise paper and glued that onto the hand (the heart in the sets are a bit too big). Next, I adhered the white base into the card (here is a great tutorial on how to do this) (26) Heart Hands Wiper Insert Tutorial by i-crafter - YouTube . Then I set up the globe and the hand so the heart would move over the globe when you open the card. I left the white fold part down to give a place to write my message to the recipient.

Thanks so much for visiting. Happy crafting!
