Thankful, For You!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I figured I should get going on my cards to send out to friends and family. I associate sunflowers with autumn, so pairing the Bloomin' Sunshine stamp set with the Thankful Sentiments stamp set created a perfect match. I really love the unique look of the sunflower stamp as well.

I have seen some stamps that have a blank band in the center, so I thought I would try to create my own stamped image like that to put the Thankful and Grateful sentiments in. Below are images showing how I did it.

Once I had completed stamping all the images onto Kraft card stock, I coloured them in using my Prismacolor pencils. The colours I used were:

Flowers: Jasmine and Spanish Orange

Leaves: Kelly Green and Prussian Green.

After colouring, I used a ruler and the black pencil to create the solid lines above and below the sentiment to create the borders along the stamp.

Next, I die cut the image out using a stitched rectangle die from my stash. I then picked coordinating patterned papers and embellishments to build my card panels. Then I adhered them all to A2 top folding card bases.

To finish these cards off, I also stamped the For You sentiment inside and inked up just the center sunflower and stamped that into the corner.

I am really happy with how easy this was to do and how nicely the cards turned out! I hope this inspired you to try this technique yourself. Thanks for visiting!
