Take Care, easy water colour background

Hi there! Today I have this clean and simple card to share on my blog. This dark water colour background reminds me of a storm. I thought with the craziness of this past year, the "take care" sentiment from Gina K Designs could be applicable for many card sending situations.

I started off with a 5.5 x 4.25" water colour paper card panel. I then lined it up on the grid of my glass mat. This makes creating straight lines so easy. I Then proceeded to use regular masking tape to create a rectangle in the center of the card panel which will be the focal point.

Using a flat brush, I wet the rectangle with water. Then, I simply sprinkled Nuance powder from Magenta in Ocean over the dampened area. I sprayed a little more water on to get the colour to flow around more. A paper towel came in handy to pull up some water in areas that had too much. Mostly around the tape.

I let the panel dry completely before removing the tape very carefully so as not to tear the paper.

I chose one of the flower images from Gina K Designs, Take Care Mini stamp set. Then using my Misti, I stamped the image in the bottom right of the background in Versa mark ink. Then covered it with white embossing powder and heat set it.

I repeated the same process for the sentiment. Making sure to brush away any embossing powder that extended past the edges of the rectangle. The last step was to adhere this panel to my A2 sized top folding card base.

It is so easy to create beautiful water colour backgrounds with this powder! Then, by adding a couple of elements you get a really pretty card!

Thanks so much for visiting. Have a wonderful day!
