Hello! Today is day 1 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release and inspiration hop. My creation for today features the super sweet Bunny Ballet stamp set illustrated by Tatsiana Zayats. I chose to use the single ballerina image for this card that will be heading to my niece who started ballet lessons last year.
I started by white embossing my image onto vellum. I prepped the vellum first by using the Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. Then I stamped my image onto the vellum using and embossing ink pad. I covered the image with white embossing powder, shook off the excess then carefully heat set the powder. When it was cool, I die cut it out using a stitched, scalloped edge, rectangle die from my stash.
In order for the background to not show through the ballerina, I stamped the image onto a piece of white cardstock using fade out ink for no line colouring. I coloured the image using Copic markers, then fussy cut the image out.
Once the image was coloured I used liquid glue with a precision tip to add glue to the back of the ballerina on the vellum. Running the glue along the white lines then adhered the coloured ballerina to the back of the vellum.
Next, I created a background for this sweet ballerina. I trimmed pink cardstock to A2 size (4.25x5.5) I then used the Garden Trellis hot foil cover plate with opal foil to create the pretty design.
I adhered the background onto a top folding white A2 sized card base. Then I adhered my ballerina on, applying the liquid adhesive behind white embossed areas and the ballerina so the adhesive wouldn't show through the vellum. I also embossed (in white) the sentiment onto vellum, trimmed it using my paper trimmer then adhered it below the ballerina.
