Serene White Lotus

I must be really craving a trip to the spa because every time I see the lotus stamp set from Gina K, a feeling of Zen washes over me. I think that I beginning to create a Spa card collection.

What is great about this card is that it would make a perfect wedding card if you switch the word peace to use congratulations instead!

I started this card by creating the beautiful glittery gold background using the Fizzy stencil included with the kit and Glitz Glitter Gel in gold that I had in my stash.

After setting that aside to dry, I stamped the large lotus onto white cardstock using my Versamark ink pad. I covered it with white Hero Arts embossing powder, brushed away any stray powder and heat set it.

Using Kuretake Starry metallic water colour paint, I mixed a gold to match (as close as I could get) the gold of the glitz gel. I painted just the bottom each flower petal. What is great about the embossing is that it prevents the paint from bleeding into the other petals. I then die cut the flower out.

Next, I stamped and embossed the stem the same way as the flower. I then painted the whole stem with the gold I had mixed. Once dry, I fussy cut it out.

By the time I had completed the painting, the glittery background had dried. I trimmed it to just shy of 5.5x4.25, adhered it to a gold foil mat and then onto an A2 top folding card base. With that done, I used double sided foam tape on the lotus and placed it in the center of the card. Then used Tombow Mono glue to adhere the stem below the flower.

On vellum, I masked off the "Wishing You" words and only inked the "peace" with Versamark then heat embossed in white. I trimmed it into a strip and glued it onto the bottom portion of the card.

I love the beautiful serenity of this flower so much. Thanks for visiting and be sure to check back for more posts in my spa collection!
