It's day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release inspiration hop! Today's card is a cutie! I featured the adorable seahorse from the new See-ing Is Believing stamp set, illustrated by Agota Pop! The idea to have 2 seahorses kissing came to me the minute I saw this set! It is packed full of cute sea creatures and so fun to play with!
I started out by stamping the mirror image first onto red rubber. then I laid my white cardstock panel overtop and applied pressure over the back to transfer the image onto the paper. I used Gina K's Amalgam ink in Obsidian because it dries a little more slowly allowing you to get a better transferred image. I then lined up the seahorse stamp to the image and stamped the other seahorse.
Once the ink was dry, I coloured my seahorses using coloured pencils. Then I went over all the black lines of the seahorses with a black coloured pencil. There was a little black ink around the eye of the transferred seahorse, so I turned them into lashes.
I created masks for both seahorses so I could ink blend my sea. I stamped the seahorse onto masking paper, one on the front and one on the back (for the mirrored image) then fussy cut them out. ***You can totally skip this step as I ended up inking over the bottoms of their tails anyway.
I then used the new Making Waves stencil to, well, make waves! I used a Bitty Blending brush to blend a beautiful blue sea with Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes ink.
Next, I stamped a heart, from the new, Otterly Adore stamp set, above the seahorses. Then stamped my sentiment above that. I coloured the heart using blue coloured pencils and added white to their eyes using a white gel pen.
To finish off the car, I added a few pretty sequins from my stash, and then adhered the panel onto a white, top folding, A2 (4.25x5x5) card base.
