Rose and Thorn Card

Hello! I love the juxtaposition of the soft beauty of this rose with the spiky starkness of the thorny vines. I used A Colorful Life Designs Thorny Vines stencil along with Colorado Craft Company's Big and Bold Sympathy and Friendship Rose stamp set to create this boldly coloured card.

I started out by stamping the rose onto Kraft cardstock using a fade out/no line ink pad. I also stamped and fussy cut a mask for the rose.

I colored my rose using Prismacolor Premier pencils in shades of yellow. My mom's favourite rose colour. Then I covered it with the rose mask, sprayed pixie spray on the stencil and positioned the stencil over the card panel.

I ink blended Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink all over the stencil. then carefully removed the stencil and mask. I let the ink dry, then coloured the thorny branches using my coloured pencils.

Next, I grabbed my Simon Says Stamp Small Hello die and die cut 3 hello words in a matching yellow cardstock. Then Adhered them together in a stack.

Next, I adhered the rose & thorn panel onto an A2 sized (4.25x5.5") top folding kraft card base, adhered the hello stack and added some yellow bling to finish it off.

I love how this came out. I hope it inspired you to try a combo like this. Thanks for visiting!
