Hello there! Welcome to Day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release and inspiration blog hop! Today I have this adorable Caffeinated Kangaroo looking for a refill at his favourite coffee spot made with the new Back Alley stencil.
I started out by creating the brick wall panel. I combined a patterned paper with brown cardstock to measure 5.5x4.25. Then connected the two with a strip of washi tape. I then covered the panel with the stencil. To dry emboss the texture of the bricks on the panel, I ran it through my die cutting machine using my embossing mat with the proper sandwich.
Once I had that panel looking like a painted brick wall, I die cut a window frame using one I had in my stash. Then I cut a rectangle out of my panel where I wanted the window frame to be.
Next, I placed vellum on the backside of the panel to resemble frosted sliding glass and used a metallic pencil to draw on a handle. On the front side of the panel, I adhered the frame.
With the wall complete, I stamped the kangaroo onto Copic friendly cardstock. Then I coloured her using these colours: E50, YR20, E33 and RV10 and the mug: BG10, G00 and BG15.
Next, I stamped the word Coffee from the Marquee Words stamp set in brown ink. Then I coloured in the dots with a Neon Orange Prismacolor pencil. I trimmed it down and backed it on a brown cardstock panel to match the window frame.
To make the window more "see through" I cut a rectangle in my top folding A2 card base to line up with the window of the panel. I then adhered all the elements together to create this coffeeshop card.
