Rainbow Lotus

This beautiful lotus image from Gina K Designs Lovely Lotus stamp set is perfect for colouring in rainbow colours. The lotus is representative of a person's ability to come from a place of suffering into the light. So, I feel that combining the flower with a rainbow and this sentiment is a perfect combination!

I started this card by stamping the large lotus in black onto white cardstock. I then used Prismacolor pencils to create a rainbow on each individual petal. Colours I used were, Permanent Red, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Spring Green, and Non-Photo Blue. I then die cut it out with the coordinating die.

Next, onto a 5.5x4.25" white cardstock panel, I inked Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade over the Sunshine stencil. After removing the stencil (and not adding any more ink to my blender brush), I lightly blended over the whole panel to soften out the stark white contrast.

Then, I stamped the sentiment onto the top left corner of the panel. I adhered the lotus towards the bottom so that the top portion of the sun appear above the flower.

Lastly, I adhered the panel to an A2 card base.

I hope this card brings you light. Thanks for visiting!
