Paws and Unwind!

I love this lounging pup from Hero Arts. He is definitely enjoying his moment of bliss! The whole stamp set speaks to my summer, hanging by the pool, side.

This was a very easy card to make. I started by stamping the image in black onto white cardstock paper.

I then coloured him up using Prismacolour pencils. Colours I used were:

Flamingo float: Hot Pink, Process Red, Magenta

Flamino beak: Blush pink, Hot Pink, Black, 90%, 70% and 50% Cool Grey

Pup: Beige, Sienna Brown, Chocolate

Next, using a circle die, I die cut the pup out. I stamped a mask, fussy cut it out and placed it over the flamingo float and stamped the waves around the float. I then removed the mask and coloured the water and sky. Colours used were:

Water: Powder Blue, Light Cerulean Blue Hue

Sky: Cream, Lemon Yellow

The next thing I did was to emboss my sentiment on a stitched banner. I did not have the right colour embossing powder or ink, so I made my own colour embossing powder. All I did was add a tiny bit of blue Pearl X powder to white embossing powder.

I wanted my pup circle to stand out from the card so I die cut 4 more circles of the same size and adhered them to the back of the pup circle.

I chose a patterned paper that would go well with my pup, trimmed it down to a 5.5 x 4.25" size and adhered it to a top folding card base of the same size.

Then, I adhered my pup and sentiment onto the card base. I finished the card off with some raindrop embellishments that I turned upside down to resemble splashes.

I am looking forward to play with this cute stamp set some more. I hope you enjoyed this card. Happy Summer! Thanks for visiting!
