Hello! Today is day 3 of the new release and inspiration blog hop from The Rabbit Hole Designs. We are featuring the gorgeous Corner Mandala Stencil. This stencil can also be used other ways as well. I chose to add it to the top and bottom of my card for today and then pop on a simple sentiment.
I started with an A2 sized piece of black cardstock. I then lined up my stencil along the bottom of my panel. Using a very sharp white watercolour pencil, I traced the outline of each shape. I did the same for the top of the panel.
Once the outlines were completed, I used my white metallic watercolour paint to colour in each individual shape. I wanted it really bright at the bottom of the shape and then gradually fade out. I let the paint dry on one end before I did the other so as not to smear the colour.
While the panel dried, I created my sentiment from a die I had in my stash. After it was cut, I inked it with my Versamark pad and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.
Next, I trimmed down my panel slightly so I would have a thin border of the white card base showing. I adhered the "thanks" in the middle of the card panel then adhered it onto the card base.
I really love the shimmer and sheen the white metallic paint gives on the black background. I hope you like todays inspiration and be sure to visit all the stops on the hop to see everyone's beautiful creations. Thanks for stopping by!
