Day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release and inspiration hop is upon us. Today I have a trio of friends who all need a boost of caffeine to get them going in the morning. This card features the newly released Caffeinated Hippo and boy is she fun!
To make this trio all face different ways I had to mirror stamp the Caffeinated Rhino. To do this, I stamped him onto my silicone mat, then placed a 4.25 x 5.5" white cardstock panel position so the rhino would be where I wanted. I then, careful not to move the paper, rubbed over the top of the paper to transfer the image.
Then onto the left side of the panel, I stamped the Caffeinated Giraffe.
Next, I stamped the Caffeinated Hippo onto a separate piece of white cardstock and colour all my images with Prisma color pencils. The colours I used were::ponding images on the cardstock panel and ink blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink from the top down and then Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink from the bottom up. I didn't blend them together leaving a bit of light area between. I removed the masks and trimmed the panel using an 4.25x 5.5" stitched rectangle die.
Next, I stamp the Caffeinated Hippo onto a separate piece of white cardstock and colour all my images with Prisma color pencils. The colours I used were:
Hippo Body: Warm Grays 20, 30 and 50%, Clay Rose
Teeth : Eggshell
Eyes: Chestnut, Black
Robe and curlers: Hot Pink, Process Red, Magenta
Leaves: Light Aqua, Aquamarine, Cobalt Turquoise
Giraffe: Burnt Ochre, Yellow Ochre, Chocolate, Eggshell, Beige
Eye: Lime Peel, Black
Robe: Spring Green, Apple Green, Prussian Green,
Rhino Body: Warm Grays 10, 20 and 30%
Eye: Cobalt Blue Hue, Black
Boxer Shorts: Copenhagen Blue, True Blue, Lemon Yellow
Mugs and Hippo Slippers: Lemon Yellow, Canary Orange, Spanish Orange
Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut the hippo out. I then backed her with double sided foam tape and adhered her in the open space between her friends.
Next, I die cut a speech bubble from white cardstock. I stamped the sentiment inside the speech bubble inking up the stamp in bits in order to fit it all inside. Then, I adhered it behind the hippo and trimmed off the over hang with scissors.
My last step was to adhere the whole panel onto a 4.25 x 5.5" card base. I am so happy with how this card turned out. I hope this gives some inspiration to try your own trio of caffeinated friends. Thanks for visiting! Next on the hop is my super talented friend Tangii! Link down below.
