Hi everyone. My card today features the so very beautiful Missing you Peony stamp set from The Colorado Craft Company. This set really called out to me because I used to have a huge peony bush when I lived up north. I would cut some of the blooms, check them for ants then bring them inside. Their scent was so wonderful! Sadly peonies won't survive the Texas heat and I miss them so much!
I have had this set for a bit and have been itching for a chance to get this big gorgeous flower coloured up!
To start, I stamped the image onto blue cardstock using my Versafine Onyx Black ink pad. I then coloured the whole image using Prisma color pencils. Then trimmed the panel to 5.25x5.25.
The colours I used were:
Flower: Denim Blue, Non Photo Blue, White, White gel pen (at tips of petals)
Stem/leaves: Spring Green, Apple Green, Olive Green
Shadow: Cerulean Blue, True Blue, Copenhagen Blue
Next, I used my static tool on blue cardstock and stamped the Hello Friend sentiment using a Versamark pad. Then, I covered that with black embossing powder. I brushed off any stray powder then heat set it. I trimmed it down and backed it with double sided foam tape.
After that, I adhered my flower panel to a 5.5 x 5.5 inch black cardstock panel and then onto a top folding 5.5 x 5.5 card base. I removed the backer paper from the tape on my sentiment and adhered it overlapping my flower on the front of the card!
I really love how this turned out on the blue cardstock! Thanks so much for visiting!
