Hi there. Today is my last blog as a guest designer for Doodles Paper Playground, sigh! I've had so much fun creating with their beautiful Sparkle Blends these last 2 months. Today's card is all about Fall! The inspiration was the fun Fall Sports Sparkle Blend. This blend has all those sports our kids play this time of year with beautiful fall colours.
I started out by stamping, colouring and fussy cutting the fall elements for the front of my card. I pulled out a Not 2 Shabby stamp set that I got last fall, from my stash. Sadly, it is no longer available, but many companies have great fall sets out that would work well too.
I then went to work creating the frame for my shaker. I die cut 2 frames from the Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Rectangle Windows die set and adhered them together. I then die cut a 3rd and adhered a piece of acetate to the back. Then I adhered the window with the acetate on top of the stack of 2, creating the well for my shaker bits.
Next, I chose a patterned paper from my stash, trimmed it to 4.25x5x5 to adhere onto a white top folding card base.
Once I adhered the fall paper to the base, I added my Sparkle Blend in the center, adhered on a pumpkin and wheat then adhered my frame over top. Then I added the other elements to the bottom of the shaker frame.
I created the sentiment to add to my shaker by white heat embossing the Happy Fall Y'all that was in the stamp set. I cut the words apart and adhered them onto the acetate of the shaker. Before embossing, I used the awesome Cottontail Embossing Powder tool from The Rabbit Hole Designs. This kept all stray white powder from sticking to the black cardstock.
