The minute I saw the Ribbon Stars stencil I knew I wanted to create a 4th of July inspired card. I used a 6x6 square card in order to show off those beautiful stars and stripes.
To create the stenciled background, I started with a blue cardstock cut to 5.5x5.5. Then sprayed the stencil with Pixie spay and laid it over the blue cardstock. Next I used washi tape to cover all the stars so that only the stripes were exposed. I applied Nuvo garnet glimmer paste over the stripes. I carefully removed the stencil, cleaned it and set the cardstock to the side to dry.
While it was drying, I stamped the Caffeinated Unicorn onto Neenah White Solar cardstock using Gina K Amalgam ink in Obsidian. I Copic colored the image using C00, C1 and C3 for the unicorn, the white part of the mane and the mug. For the blue portions B21, B24 and B28. Then for the red, R20, R24 and R29. I had some red and white patterned paper that I stamped the unicorn on then fussy cut out the robe parts to paper piece onto the unicorn. I glued them on using Tombow multi glue XL. I did that same process for the cuffs, collar, belt and trim using blue cardstock. I die cut the unicorn using the matching unicorn die.
Going back to the background, I lined up the stencil using the red stripes as a guide then masked off the stripes with washi. I then applied HA unicorn white ink to the stars using a foam dauber. After that, I used Bo Bunny silver glimmer paste over the stars. I carefully removed the stencil and set the background to the side to dry.
I die cut the Happy Birthday sentiment out of shiny silver cardstock. I then die cut it 4 more times from white cardstock. I glued them all on top of each other placing the silver one on top.
To assemble the card, I used my ATG tape gun to mount the background to a white cardstock border then red cardbase and the Caffeinated Unicorn to the background. I used my Tombow Mono glue for the sentiment and to add some shiny silver stars from my stash to the mane to round out all the sparkle! Happy crafting! Thanks for visiting.
