Hi there! Today I am sharing a cute slimline card idea using the new Puppy Face Wiper Insert from i-Crafter Art. Isn’t that face just the sweetest ever??? I cannot get over its cuteness!
I wanted to create a paw print background for my pupper’s face to go onto. I love when dog paws have pink pads so that was my inspiration for my background colors, pink pads with beige fur.
To achieve the idea in my head, I die cut a bunch of masks (cut from masking paper) using the included paw die. I then placed them randomly on a pink slimline sized (3.5x 8.5) cardstock panel. I used the outline for the placement of the pads then removed them before inking. To secure the masks, I used the flat end of the i-press burnisher. When I was happy with the placement, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink over the whole panel then carefully removed the masks. When the ink had dried, I trimmed it using a stitched rectangle die from my stash then adhered it to a white slimline card base.
While my panel was drying, I went to work creating my pup. I wanted him to resemble a corgi puppy, so I chose tan, cream and black cardstock. I die cut all the elements using the dies included in the set. I trimmed off the bottom of the pup’s head in order to place it on my card. I also gave a small curve to the ears and tongue using the round end i-press burnisher to amp up the cute factor. I cut 3 of the heads to give some more dimension. I also added a touch of white ink to the inside of his ears. Then I adhered him to the bottom of my background.
To finish off the card, I die cut the Best Friends Furever sentiment in black cardstock, backed it with the tan cardstock, trimmed it down, and then adhered it to the front of the card. I added a few pink hearts to round out the whole card
