Hi again! Todays post is a fun shaker card I made using The Rabbit Hole Designs Build Your Garden stencil. One of the coolest things about this shaker card is that the foam tape is invisible! YES! TRHD has Crystal Clear Double Sided foam tape! Now you can use all your dark and coloured cardstocks with no white foam tape showing! How awesome!
So for this card, I first created a black frame by placing a small stitched rectangle die in the center of the large ( 4.25 x 5.5" ) on black cardstock and ran it through my die cutting machine.
Then, I used white ink with the stencil to create flowers on the frame.
Next, I embossed a flower onto acetate. I first powdered up the acetate with my anti static pouch. Then secured the stencil to the acetate with washi tape. Next I covered all the openings on the stencil that I did not want to ink. Then I used my Versamark ink pad to ink directly on the stencil. I then very carefully removed the stencil and added white embossing powder all over the versamarked image on the acetate. I brushed off any stray embossing powder then heat set the powder.
After that, I adhered the acetate to the back of my black frame. Now comes the magic....I used the clear double sided foam tape on the back of the frame to create my well for the shaker bits.
Then I added my shaker mix to the well. I used a Sparkle Blends spring mix from Doodles Paper Playground. They have awesome shaker mixes! *TIP* to make the side of the tape less sticky so the bits don't stick to the sides, I use a paint brush with the anti static powder on it and brush the side of the tape that faces inside the well.
Now I adhere a black A2 sized (4.25 x 5.5") cardstock panel to a top folding A2 card base. I then line it up over my frame with the shaker bits and carefully adhere it into place.
Then I picked up my card, shook it around and was amazed not to see any tape. Total game changer for my shaker cards!
