When I first saw this beautiful jaguar from Stamperia, I knew I had to have it! It is so striking! This big cat is a favourite of mine at our local zoo I really wanted to showcase the jaguar and make him appear to be bursting out of the jungle.
I started my mini slimline card by stamping the image onto white cardstock. I used Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink first and applied ink all around the jaguar's head. I used a damp paper towel to wipe ink that had gotten on the leopard. Then, I applied black ink on the leopard. Again using a damp paper towel to wipe away ink that had strayed.
Next, I coloured the jaguar using Prismacolor pencils. The colours I used were:
Cream, Yellow Ochre, Ginger Root, 20% French Grey, Deco Pink and Green Ochre.
I trimmed my coloured panel to 3.5x6". Then I stamped the included sentiment above the main image using the Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink.
Once the stamping was complete and the ink had dried, I distressed the edges of the panel. I did this by using a blade from a pair of scissors and scraping it along the edges. You can also use a distressing tool to achieve this effect.
When I had the effect I was looking for, I adhered it onto a 3.75x6.25" jaguar print patterned cardstock panel. Then, I adhered it onto a card base of the same measurements.
I am really happy with how this card turned out! It will be heading to my animal loving brother for his birthday. I think he'll love it!
Thanks for visiting. Happy crafting!
