Creepy Halloween Shaker- Doodles Paper Playground, Guest Designer

Hiya everyone! I was honored when asked to be a guest designer for Doodles Paper Playground! They have the best blends for shaker cards and embellishing your creations!

For today's card, I created a full panel shaker card using products from a few wonderful stamp companies and featuring the newly released Blood Magic Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground.

I started by stamping this creepy clown jack-in-the-box image from Whimsy Stamps in black onto Neenah Solar White 85lb cardstock. Then I coloured it up using Copic Markers. I stamped an extra clown, colouring only the head the 2nd time. Then fussy cut them out.

I then created the marquee sign. I heat embossed it in white, so I prepared my black cardstock first using The Rabbit Hole Designs Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool. I then stamped the sign using Versamark Embossing ink, sprinkled white embossing powder on, tapped off the excess then heat set it. I used the same process to add the sentiment to the inside of the sign. Then I fussy cut the image out.

Next, I created this very circus like, shiny background. I used the fabulous Diamond Rhombus hot foil plate from The Rabbit Hole Designs on glossy black cardstock using red foil.

I trimmed the cardstock to slightly under 4.25x5.5" in order to fit into the A2 (4.25x5.5") shaker front I was creating. To make the shaker front I trimmed my acetate sheet to 4.75x6" and used my score board to score lines so there would be .25" on each side to fold and adhere on the back of the foiled panel. I trimmed each corner on an angle to make folding and adhering easier.

I placed double sided tape around the perimeter of the back of my foiled panel. I placed my foil panel on the acetate.

Next, I removed the backer paper from 3 sides, and adhered the acetate. I made sure to leave to top open in order to pour the beautiful Blood Magic Sparkle Blend in.

Once I had the shaker blend in, I removed the final backer paper and adhered the acetate sealing in the shaker bits. Check out all the sparkle and shine!!

I adhered my jack-in-the-box and marquee sign directly to the front of the shaker. I then added an Action Wobble (spring) to the back of the 2nd clown head and adhered it over top of the first one. I then adhered the whole shaker panel onto a white A2 sized, top folding card base. Check out the video below to see the head wobble like a jack-in-the-box!

I have to say, I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out! It is probably my favourite Halloween card I've created thus far! I really hope this has inspired you to create a fun shaker card! Thank you for visiting!
