Welcome! Today I have a sweet, mini slimline Christmas card. I created this ombre background using the new Layered Bird Trees stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. Then I added the cute Santa hat deer from Honey Bee Stamps.
I ink blended the trees onto Neenah Solar White cardstock using the first layer of the stencil set. Starting with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink from the bottom up. Then, I blended Rustic Wilderness starting from the top down till the colours met and blended together. I then added some Black Soot to the top just to deepen the green a little. I switched to stencil #2, the one with the birds, lined it up and ink blended Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink from the bottom up and Candied Apple from the bottom down to blend them together. I again added Black Soot at the top to deepen the red.
I wanted to add some snowflakes on the trees, so I lined the tree stencil over the panel again. Then I splattered titanium white acrylic paint over top and carefully removed the stencil.
Once the paint was dry, I trimmed the panel down to 3x6". Then I adhered it onto a black cardstock panel I cut to 3.23.6.23". I then adhered that onto a white mini slimline card base measuring 3.25x6.25".
Then, I created the cute reindeer wearing a Santa hat. I stamped both the deer and hat images onto white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx ink. I coloured both images using my coloured pencils, fussy cut them out and adhered the hat on.
Next, I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment, also from the Woodland Winter Animals stamp set. I trimmed it down using a sentiment banner die from my stash.
The last step was to adhere the reindeer and sentiment onto the front of the card.
