G'day! Welcome to day 1 of The Rabbit Hole Designs May release and Inspiration blog hop. My card features the big, beautiful Botanical Koala and the Amanda (leaf) stencil for the background. Isn't he gorgeous?
To start my A2 sized card, I stamped the koala onto white cardstock using black ink. Then coloured the whole image using Prismacolor pencil crayons and fussy cut him out. The colours I used were:
Koala: 20, 30 & 50% Warm Gray, Beige, Peach Beige, Seashell Pink, Deco Pink
Flowers: Canary Yellow, Spanish Orange
Leaves: Spring Green, Grass Green
Branch: Chocolate, Light Umber, Dark Umber
To create my leafy background, I secured the Amanda stencil to a green A2 sized cardstock panel. Then, using a Cotton tail blending brush, blended Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink over the stencil.
Next, I ran the panel, with the stencil still secured, through my die cutting machine using my machines recommended embossing sandwich. This embossed the leaves giving them more dimension.
I then carefully removed the stencil and ink blended Mowed Lawn around the edges of the panel. Then I adhered the panel to a top folding A2 sized card base.
The final step was to add my coloured Botanical Koala to the front of my card!!
I left a sentiment off the front for now but when I go to send it out, I will add one appropriate for the occasion.
