Hi! For day 2 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release inspiration blog hop, I have an easy, no colouring required, sparkly card.
I started out by using a large stitched (A2 sized) rectangle die from by stash to die cut a panel from ombre glitter paper.
Then, I used the shadow die from the You Scripty word and shadow die set to cut the "you" window in the glitter panel. I then lined the panel up on the front of white card base and lightly traced the window onto the base using a pencil. Then die cut the window into my front of the the base.
Next, I dry embossed the glitter cardstock panel. I did this by placing the stencil over the panel, using the embossing sandwich recommended by my die cutting machine and running it through. I love the dimension it gives the panel.
I adhered the embossed panel onto the card base. Then I die cut the scripty "You" from a sparkly silver cardstock. Keeping the "You" die inside the shadow die, I die cut the shadow from a pink glitter cardstock. I fit the "You" into the spaces for it in shadow, then adhered it to the inside of the card so it would show perfectly through the window.
The last step was to create my embossed sentiment strip. I used the new Cottontail Embossing tool first to prepare my white cardstock. I then stamped the sentiment using my versamark ink pad. I covered it with silver embossing powder, poured the excess back into the container and heat set it. There was no stray powder....none!! I have to say, this tool has been a big game changer for me! I have used it on so many different papers and it works beautifully!
I love how this card came together! Sparkle overload but I think it works!! I hope this card inspires you to try using your stencils to dry emboss backgrounds, it's so easy! Be sure to follow the hop for more terrific inspiration from my fellow team members! Tangii is next up!
