Best Winter Wishes

Hi everyone! Today I have a sparkly winter card to share. Cardinals hold special memories of visiting my grandparents as a child. We didn't have any Cardinals where we lived but whenever we visited my grandparents we were treated to the beauty of these gorgeous red beauties. They are even prettier when they are surrounded by a backdrop of crisp, sparkling snow. That was my inspiration for today's card.

I paired the Cardinal from the new Rocker Step Card Base with the Snowflake Border die set. I started out by die cutting the sparkly panel from A2 (4.25x5.5) sized white glitter cardstock using the snowflake boarder die. Then I adhered my snowflake panel onto an A2 sized plain black cardstock panel.

Next, I die cut all the elements for bird and also the branch he was to perch on. I added a little Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to the bird's claws, some of the wing and also the tail to darken them up a little and add depth to the bird. I adhered the elements onto the bird. Then adhered the branch and the Cardinal onto the glitter snowflake panel.

I die cut the words "Best Wishes" from black cardstock using the word dies included in the Rocker Step Card Base and adhered them onto the panel as well.

The final step was to adhere my completed panel onto a white A2 sized card base. I am really happy with how this card came out. I cannot wait to send it to my parents this Christmas. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Crafting!
