I have a sweet wish for everyone this holiday season!! I love macarons and this image from Colorado Craft Company is so fun to colour! For the holidays, I decided to "Christmas" this sweet stack up in candy cane colours!
I first stamped both the macaron image and the sentiment on white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. This is my "go to" ink for colouring with pencils. It is so crisp and doesn't smear once dry. I then coloured the macaron stack using Prismacolor Premier Pencils. Colours used:
Red macaron and icing: Poppy Red, Crimson Red, Tuscan Red, White
White macaron and icing: Cream, White
Green macaron and icing: Grass Green, Dark Green, White
I then die cut the image using the coordinating die and also cut 3 more macaron stack shapes from white cardstock. I adhered the plain white shapes behind the coloured stack.
Next, I die cut a sweater like patterned background in white cardstock using a slimline die from my stash. It is from a company called Tall Mouse, but I couldn't find it on their website when I looked recently. In the links below, I have added an embossing folder that I think would work well as an alternative.
I adhered the patterned background to a red cardstock panel that was slightly larger to create a red border. Then I adhered that to a white slimline card base measuring 3.5x8.5.
The last step was to adhere my macarons and then the sentiment onto my card.
