When I first saw this adorable penguin stamp set by Whimsy Stamps, I knew I needed to have it. I am not normally a penguin lover but who can resist these sweeties! Unfortunately, the set is currently out of stock but I have linked a similar penguin set that's in stock below.
To create my winter wonderland slimline card, I started out by stamping the penguins and trees onto white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then coloured all the images using Prismacolour Premier Pencils then fussy cut them out. The colours I used were:
Penguin 1: True Green, Peacock Green, 10%, 30% Warm Grey, White, Hot Pink, Spanish Orange, Orange Penguin 2: Scarlet Lake, Crimson Red, Tuscan Red, 10%, 30% Warm Grey, White, Hot pink, Spanish Orange, Orange
Penguin 3: Parma Violet, Dahlia Purple, 10%, 30% Warm Grey, White, Hot Pink, Spanish Orange, Orange
Trees: Powder Blue, Grass Green, Dark Green
I then die cut the frame panel using slimline die sets from Trinity Stamps. I placed the stitched frame die inside the scalloped border die and secured them using washi tape. I cut 2 panels and adhered them together to give them some dimension/height.
Next, I die cut a snow hill using the slimline hill border die from Trinity Stamps. I adhered it behind my frame panel.
I adhered a slimline paper panel from the Surreally Cool Christmas Pack to my slimline card base. I chose the one that resembled a wintery sky. I believe it is supposed to be ice but I think it makes a beautiful sky for my card.
Next, I adhered the frame panel onto the card base and then adhered my penguins and trees. The die cut "winter wonderland" was cut from turquoise and also black cardstock then adhered to the top with the black behind the turquoise. The words came from a very old set that I had in my stash.
