One sip at a time

The Caffeinated critters are what first drew me to The Rabbit Hole Designs company. I Just love their uniqueness and expressions. As a total coffee addict myself, I can totally relate to these poor caffeine deprived critters. The idea for this card up popped into my head before falling asleep one evening and have been itching to make it ever since.

I chose to do a slimline card so that I would have ample room to fit all three critters on nicely. The slimline card base measures 7x 3.5. I also cut a panel with the same measurements to ink blend using the 6x6 Hexagon stencil from Honey Bee. After spraying the stencil with Pixie spray, I positioned it on the panel and started ink blending using Distressed Oxides in Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac. I had to lift and reposition lining up the stencil to complete the bottom of the panel using Cracked Pistachio. The stencil I used is now retired but here is a similar one that they have now.

I picked the critters I wanted, Caffeinated Unicorn, Caffeinated Goat and Caffeinated Fox because they were all similar in sizing and they all didn't face the same way. I stamped them on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock using Gina K Obsidian Amalgam ink. I Copic coloured them using:

Unicorn, C 00, C1 and C3 robe&mug: G 00, G02, G17

Goat W00, W0 W2, W4, W5 horns:E70, E71 robe: RV10 , RV55

Fox E21, E7, E15 Robe: V01, V12, V15 mug: RV10, RV55

When I had finished the Copic colouring, I die cut the top portion of critters using a hexagon die that came with my Gemini machine. There are lots of hexagon stacking die sets out there though that would work just as well. I then created a white frame using the same die set and colour blended them in matching colours. The adhesive I used to adhere the frame and then the hexagons to the panel using Tombow Mono Multi liquid glue.

The sentiment I chose was from the Perfectly Blended sentiment set from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I thought that "take life one sip at a time" is a perfect sentiment to use this year. I know I could definitely stand to take that advice myself! I stamped the sentiment in 3 segments onto white cardstock. Covering up the words that I didn't want with a piece of paper so they didn't get inked. I then trimmed them and glued them onto the card panel in the spaces beside the critters heads. I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to try slimline cards. They are so fun! Happy crafting.
